Synopsis
This guide is intended for those encountering Romanian for the first time, whether as travellers or as students of the language. It presents the basics of spoken and written Romanian and is equally suited for those sitting exams or requiring a working knowledge of the language. The course consists of 25 graded lessons, with conversations and texts based on everyday situations, which use the grammatical points and vocabulary introduced in the lesson. Exercises (with a key) enable the student to consolidate language skills. In addition there is an appendix with a verb table, a list of Romanian words used in the lessons, and an extensive Romanian-English vocabulary of further words, which will be valuable as an immediate and longer term reference source for students and travellers.
