Enormous changes have taken place in the area of race and ethnic relations since the 1988 publication of the second edition of this reference. For this edition, a total revision has taken place with most of the entries newly written or substantially revised. The comprehensive range of alphabetically arranged entries cover legal concerns, historical developments, and important figures and concepts. The "Dictionary" deals with these changes through in-depth articles which both define and analyze the terms.
