Synopsis
The double award GCSE in Applied Science will be available for all 14-19 years olds from September 2002, and will be especially suitable for those looking for a less crowded science curriculum. The Applied Science Pupil's book has been written specifically to meet the new specifications, and will be relevant across all awarding bodies.

The approach is to deal with some essential science that is widely used in the workplace, together with basic practical techniques and procedures used in laboratories. About the Author
Tracey Chappell, Beverly Rickwood and Anna Holmes are teachers in Halifax, Keighley and Ipswich respectively. Steve Unsworth lecturers at an FE college in Warrington. Stewart Chenery is a consultant to a major awarding body, and all five authors are senior examiners for GNVQ and AVCE for a major awarding body.
