About the Author
Michael Benton is a highly respected author of Britain's leading poetry anthologies for schools including the 'New Touchstones' series and three books on paintings and poems - 'Double Vision', 'Painting With Words' and 'Picture Poems'. He is a lecturer in the School of Education at the University of Southampton.

Sixth-form school textbook - probably the first book in which "J.W.D. Hibberd's" name appears (in any variation) on the title-page. Aged 28, the future biographer of Wilfred Owen, like all the contributors except Fox and Thompson, was on the staff of Manchester Grammar School. Four poems by Owen are included, the same number as by John Donne, George Herbert and R.S.
