About the Author

Raven Biederman has taught at the Globe School of Music and the Art Institute of San Francisco. He has worked as FOH mixer at Club Cocomo and other small-to-medium-sized venues. He is founder of Recoil Studios, where he's accumulated numerous album credits. Penny Pattison has worked as a writing professional, educator, and research expert. Her dual interest in empowering students with accessible and useful information and in participating in small-venue, live-performance culture has led her to enthusiastically lend her skills to serve as the title's coauthor.
