Synopsis
The book covers microprocessor-controlled power electronic drives, focusing in particular on the control and use of low- and medium-power motors. Such drives have applications in the motion control of robots, computer peripherals, and numerically controlled machines. Other chapers discuss a.c. to d.c. converters, servo-amplifiers, stepping-motor drives, and inverters. A unique theory on the pulse-width modulation technique for inverters is presented. The final chapter describes a useful method for position control using a d.c. motor.
