Synopsis
This volume contains the reprinted text of J.B.S. Haldane's "Daedalus or Science and the Future", which caused a sensation when first published in 1923 due to its prediction of future scientific experiments, including test-tube babies. There is also discussion from eminent modern scientists of its relevance today, and the complex relationship between technology and society. Including contributions from Freeman Dyson, Joshua Lederberg, M.F. About the Author
Krishna Rao Dronamraju is President of the Foundation for Genetic Research, Houston, Texas. He is an Honorary Research Fellow of University College, London; a Visiting Professor of the University of Paris and the Jawaharlal Nehru University (New Delhi). He is also an Advisor to the White House and a Member of the U.S. Government's Recombinant DNA Advisory Committee, National Institutes of Health.
