Synopsis
The texts of "A London Life" and "The Reverberator", both serialized in 1888, are presented here with a new introduction, notes and lists of variant readings by Philip Horne. With these two short novels Henry James exposes the motives of those who propagate scandal and others who try to suppress it. The texts are those of the 1922 New York edition and the book includes, in an appendix, extracts from James' notebooks.

Stated copy E-58, but this is not the limited edition of 100 copies. Reprint edition. No date stated. Published by Grove Press. Small scuff / tiny tear to the top edge of the front wrap. Light rubbing to the head / tail of the spine. Small patches of rubbing along the edge of the spine. Small / light patches of dust-staining to the rear of the wrap. This is minimal. The wraps have lightly yellowed with age. The internal pages are clean and the binding is sound. A solid copy. This book would make a very interesting read! Seller Inventory # t907
