Synopsis
The introduction of "The Common Worship Lectionary" has brought to the Church of England what should prove a valuable new resource. The three-year structure of the new lectionary provides a comprehensive selection of readings for the Church's year, giving the scriptures their due prominence in worship. The structure not only expands the range of readings available, but also provides a format that enhances congregational understanding of the texts. Common worship is now in widespread use in the Church of England, and this text should prove a useful companion volume.
