His early writings focused on topics such as magic and brujería.2 3 In 1960 he founded a publishing house called Octagon Press, producing translations of classical texts Sufis also own titles . He also framed his education in Western psychological terms. Shah made extensive use of traditional tales - teaching and parables , texts that contain multiple layers of meanings designed to enable introspection and self-reflection in the reader.
