ENGLISH DESCRIPTION
Lena is about to celebrate her birthday when the discovery of an old photograph of her father at an exhibition on serial killers opens a crack connecting her life to a mysterious lineage. On this journey, she uncovers her family’s past, marked by miracles, losses, and inherited silences.
It is September in Mexico City, a time of earthquakes, tangerines, and national holidays, amidst which Lena must navigate her way to discover why a letter has been stolen from her name, among other secrets of her own history; in particular, to learn the reason her mother abandoned her fifteen years ago.
With fluid prose and unforgettable characters, Bárbara Colio presents us with a novel in which pain is transformed into reconciliation.
“The author has crafted a dizzying, endearing, and deeply powerful novel. It made us wonder: is this a novel, or is it more than a novel?”
