A sammelband, handsomely bound for presentation, of five works by banker, poet, and politician William Henry Leatham (1815-1889). Many of Leatham's poems were first published in local Wakefield journals, and he continued to collect and republish them throughout his life in volumes such as his most successful publication, A traveller's thoughts; or, lines suggested by a tour on the continent (1837). The Mrs. Tew to whom the present volume is inscribed is likely a relation of Edward Tew, with whom Leatham ran a private bank in Wakefield.
