173 pages. Book is clean with white pages. Front cover has very minor curling. In Writing the Routes emerging author Dante Berry has created a collection of poems and short stories from the perspective of an experienced bus passenger. Using regional events, language, and personalities, he explores a wide range of universal topics written in free verse and prose. Whether his subject is a spider web spun across a bus stop canopy or the beauty of a sun rise over the Sandia Mountains, Dante invites readers to board the bus and ride for a while. Take the opportunity to know the drivers and listen to passengers’ stories captured in Morning Maria and Last Ride. Dante’s writing is fresh, uncomplicated, and filled with the imagery that captures the soul of New Mexico and its people. Readers of Writing the Routes will experience the day-to-day events and emotions ranging from tragedy, humor, learning, and feelings deeply held within the heart.
