Item description from seller

A smart five-volume set of works by lawyer and thriller writer Arthur Train, one of which is inscribed by the author. Five volume set in the publisher's original cloth binding, decoratively blind stamped to the front boards. Inscribed by the author to the front free end paper of Mortmain, dated 1928. Frontispiece to The "Goldfish", By Advice of Counsel and Tut, Tut! Mr. Tutt. Frontispiece and 6 further plates to Mortmain. Frontispiece and 2 further plates to The Butler's Story. Collated complete. Arthur Cheney Train (1875-1945) was an American lawyer and writer of legal thrillers, particularly known for his novels of courtroom intrigue and the creation of the fictional lawyer Mr. Ephraim Tutt. This set includes five of his works in uniform cloth bindings: Mortmain (one of his earliest works); The Butler's Story; The "Goldfish": Being the Confessions of a Successful Man; By Advice of Counsel; and Tut, Tut! Mr. Tutt. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally very smart, with minimal bumping to the extremities. Light bumping to the boards and spine of The "Goldfish", to the rear board to The Butler's Story, and to the front board of By Advice of Counsel. Spine lettering is somewhat faded to By Advice of Counsel, The Butler's Story and Tut, Tut! Mr. Tutt. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with just a little age toning. Very Good.…
