WILMON W. BLACKMAR (1841-1905). Blackmar was a Civil War hero and Medal of Honor recipient from Massachusetts.TLS. 1pg. March 30, 1905. Boston, Massachusetts. A typed letter signed Wilmon W. Blackmar as Commander-in Chief of the Grand Army of the Republic. On the official letterhead of that military fraternity, with depicts its official medal, Blackmar wrote to Colonel E. A. Chaffee in Las Cruces, New Mexico, making plans to meet him during on upcoming trip to Albuquerque: My dear Comrade:- Your very welcome letter of march 19th is received. My present plan, which cannot now be changed, is to leave Dallas, Texas at 7.50 A. M. May 4th, arriving in El Paso the morning of the 5th, spending the day there, that my little party can look around the place and perhaps go over into Mexico, and take the 9.25 P. M. train for Albuquerque, reaching there the morning of the 6th. I have written the various parties interested that I shall take this train. I do not wish to cause you any trouble, but of course it would be very pleasant for me to meet you on my way, or on my arrival in Albuquerque, As we shall probably be in our berth trying to get a little sleep, it may be better for you to go to Albuquerque at some convenient time to you, and meet me there on my arrival. I am anticipating a great deal of pleasure in meeting you and other members of my Staff. Pardon brevity as I am very much driven with all kinds of work which has accumulated during my trips throughout New England, Sincerely yours in Fraternity, Charity & Loyalty, Wilmon W. Blackmar. Blackmar died that summer. The letter is in fine condition.

If an item is proven not to be genuine (accompanied by a written letter by a known autograph or document expert), I will refund the full purchase price to the original buyer, and this guarantee is without a time limit.

Statutory Right to cancel
You have the right to cancel this contract within 14 days without giving any reason.
The cancellation period will expire after 14 days from the day on which you acquire, or a third party other than the carrier and indicated by you acquires, physical possession of the the last good or the last lot or piece.

You may use the attached model cancellation form, but it is not obligatory. You can also electronically fill in and submit a clear statement on our website, under "My Purchases" in "My Account". If you use this option, we will communicate to you an acknowledgement of receipt of such a cancellation on a durable medium (e.g. by e-mail) without delay.
To meet the cancellation deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right to cancel before the cancellation period has expired.
Effects of cancellation
If you cancel this contract, we will reimburse to you all payments received from you, including the costs of delivery (except for the supplementary costs arising if you chose a type of delivery other than the least expensive type of standard delivery offered by us).
We may make a deduction from the reimbursement for loss in value of any goods supplied, if the loss is the result of unnecessary handling by you.
We will make the reimbursement without undue delay, and not later than 14 days after the day on which we are informed about your decision to cancel with contract and the materials are returned to us in the same condition in which they were mailed by us.
We will make the reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of such reimbursement.
We will withhold reimbursement until we have received the goods back.
You shall send back the goods or hand them over to us or Stuart Lutz Historic Documents, Inc., 784 Morris Turnpike, PMB #161, 07078-2698, Short Hills, New Jersey, U.S.A., +1 8774289362, without undue delay and in any event not later than 7 days from the day on which you communicate your cancellation from this contract to us. The deadline is met if you send back the goods before the period of 7 days has expired. You will have to bear the direct cost of returning the goods. You are only liable for any diminished value of the goods resulting from the handling other than what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods.
