A very interesting item. Dark green boards. Dark green leather spine. Gilt titles to spine. Cream endpapers with neat inscription which reads 'With fondest love, Amos, May 20, 1936. Also inserted are the following documents (1) A typewritten letter personally signed in ink by Edward, Duke of Windsor on letterhead bearing his Paris address of 4 Route du Champ d'Entrainement. This charming letter is dated 14th July 1957 and chronicles what has been happening in the garden and invites Perry to visit it. (2) A memo of thanks written to Perry by Arthur Hill, Director of the Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew, dated 21st March 1940. This memo has inked in Perry's hand the comment 'Very pleased to have this. Amos'. (3) An obituary of Amos Perry cut from The Gardeners' Chronicle January 27, 1923. (4) A photograph of Perry, and (5) A manuscript letter of sympathy to Amos Perry on the death of his father dated 30th June 1913. The book is essentially an illustrated catalogue of the plants cultivated by Amos Perry at the Hardy Plant Farm. Seller Inventory # 061538
