Sixth printing, January 1966. Inscribed, signed, and dated by the author on the front endpaper: "for our generous hosts / Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Hawkridge of the Newton (?) Center / Re-calling a rainy evening / Karl Menninger / June 1967." Menninger (1893-1990) was an influential American psychiatrist and author. The book is square and unmarked; some foxing to boards; tape residue on inside front board; corners and spine ends bumped. The dust jacket is not price-clipped (original price $10.00); heavily chipped and edgeworn; insect damage to back edge; back panel is age-darkened; Brodart protected.
