About this Item
View. Pencil drawing, signed and dated. Page measures 9" x 11". Quiet scene featuring a laundry line. Charles P. Rising (1859-1920) was a landscape artist born in Auburn, New York near the Finger Lakes. Artistically inclined from an early age, Rising studied with Hudson River painter George Clough (1825-1901). Rising worked in a variety of media including charcoal, oil, watercolor and pencil, and his delicate drawings clearly reflect the inspiration he found in the enchanting landscapes of his native region. Tear along left edge is original, small green smudge to top left. Seller Inventory # 216470
