Two central, horizontal folds. Sent to editor at G. P. Putnam's William "Bill" Targ. "January 31, 1974 I am very sorry to be so late with this introduction to the Julia Grant memoirs but the last two or three months have been rather unusual for me and things happened. In any case, here is the manuscript and I must apologize for sending it to you without having it retyped. I thought that after this long delay you might prefer to get it in this form.
