In their 109th National League season, Chicago's beloved "Cubbies" ended the 1984 season with 96-65, first place in that league's Eastern Division, but were defeated by the San Diego Padre's in the National League Championship Series. This superb glossy 10" X 8" color photograph, a group portrait in uniforms on the field with Wrigley Field scoreboard above them proclaiming "1984 Chicago Cubs," is accompanied by fine, matching heavy stock 5" X 3" cards boldly signed in ink by 23 of the teams' players and coaches plus one small signed photograph of one player. 17 of the 23 cards have also been dated by the signer at upper right (all in the 1970s and '80s). All are fine to near fine. The original transmittal envelopes for all 24 items are present. A handsome and unusual collection that would be challenging to duplicate, representing more than half of that year's entire roster.
