Item description from seller

From the back cover: "A Tree Rooted in Faith traces the history of Queen of Angels Monastery from its beginnings in Maria-Rickenbach in Switzerland to the end of the twentieth century in Mt. Angel, Oregon. This story tells of the sisters' early work as teachers and of the gradual change in ministries as the needs of society of the Cathoic Church have evolved." The covers are creased from use. There are a number of scratches and scuffs as well. There is some light staining on the page edges. --- We are a Benedictine Monastery/Seminary Library; thank you for your support.

Store description

Mount Angel Abbey Library is housed in a world-renowned building designed by Finnish architect, Alvar Aalto. The architecture of the Abbey Library reflects and shapes its spirit and purpose. The building's natural light illumines the multi-color bindings, offered on open stacks against a disciplined black and white background, softened by undulating curves and light colored wood. The structure, including three stories and a mezzanine, was completed in 1970. The library is a part of Mount Angel Abbey a community of Benedictine Monks.
