About the Author
Dillon Bustin is a singer in Massachusetts who has studied folklore and ethnomusicology at Indiana University and at Brown University. Many of his original ballads are drawn from research in the archives of the Marthas Vineyard Museum. Many of these songs, including "Thirty Dirty Sailors," were compiled into a musical play entitled Tidebook: An Island Rhapsody, first presented more than a decade ago. Illustrator Susan Convery Foltz is a Martha's Vineyard native. She studied art at Syracuse University and The School of the Musuem of Fine Arts in Boston, MA. She has a degree from Georgetown University in finance. She attended the first production of Tidebook: An Island Rhapsody, and fell in love with the song "Thirty Dirty Sailors." She has carried the music around in her head for more than a decade.
