Item description from seller

Justman, Robert H. Star Trek: The Next Generation First Season Playback Schedule, undated, documents the production and playback coordination behind the inaugural season of the television series and provides evidence of the practical processes used to organize material for a major syndicated television production. Star Trek: The Next Generation debuted the week of September 28, 1987, launching a seven-season series that ultimately ran through 1994. Justman was among the veterans of the original Star Trek brought into development of the new program and served as supervising producer during its first season; he participated in the series' early creative development and, according to the Television Academy, worked across matters ranging from set design to script development. The schedule therefore survives from the formative production environment in which Gene Roddenberry and members of the earlier Star Trek team were establishing the personnel, procedures, and creative framework of the revived franchise. Justman, Robert H. Star Trek: The Next Generation First Season Playback Schedule. Undated [first season, 1987-1988]. Signed "Bob Justman." Three pages. Internal playback schedule organizing first-season material, offering a production-level record of how programming associated with the series was coordinated rather than a document created for public promotion or fandom. Its association with Justman is particularly relevant: he had worked as associate producer and later co-producer on the original Star Trek before returning two decades later as supervising producer of The Next Generation. The document thus connects two distinct periods of Star Trek production history through a producer directly involved in both and provides primary-source evidence for studying television production practices, program coordination, and the behind-the-scenes organization of the franchise's 1987 revival. The schedule belongs to the first season in which The Next Generation established a new cast, Enterprise, and production identity while deliberately drawing on personnel with experience on the original series. Contemporary accounts identify Justman as one of the figures involved in developing the project before production began, and his first-season role placed him within the small group responsible for translating the proposed revival into an operating television series. Three pages, complete as described, signed "Bob Justman"; no date appears on the document. Minor handling wear, if any; otherwise excellent, corresponding to near fine condition. An unusually direct production document from the inaugural season of Star Trek: The Next Generation, strengthened by the signature of a producer whose work connected the original 1960s series with its 1980s successor.…
