Quarto. 258pp. Signed by the author to the half title page. Second edition, first impression. Includes 16 full colour paintings and 88 black and white sketches. This book is in good condition. The dust jacket has been covered in sticky plastic which is also attached to the inside of the boards. Whilst this has protected the dust jacket, the plastic cannot be removed. Also, this means the condition of the boards cannot be confirmed, though they appear solid, with minor bumping and shelfwear, and have also been protected by the plastic covering. The front board is slightly bowed. The pages are clean and the binding is tight. The dust jacket shows 2 closed tears, each of approximately 2cm, to either side of the spine top edge. The spine is also slightly tanned with 2 small water marks. The spine is slightly sunned. The plastic covering is slightly fraying to one or two edges and the corners.

Store description
Wordhoard. One of the oldest written words in the English language (actually Wordhord in Old English). Storytellers would ‘open their wordhord’ whilst sitting amongst friends and family and tell stories of great deeds such as the story of Beowulf. It’s a word that speaks of the importance of storytelling throughout our history. So perhaps a fitting name for a bookshop? Based in Bristol, UK, Wordhoard Books specialise in selling collectible signed and unsigned first edition books for both adults and children. Collections include signed books, novels, natural history, military history, general history, art, graphic art, film, biography, poetry, and many more, so please do come and browse. If you have any questions regarding any of my books, feel free to get in touch.…
