A passage from a Joyce notebook discovered by Donald Carroll, who first published it in "Icarus" (Dublin) in 1961. Consists of serveral lines of conversation between Mrs. Vanderpyl and her maid, in French and German. This copy signed by Stone on verso of the front cover: "Best wishes from Bernard."
