Fine in a Fine dust jacket. Bright yellow boards quarterbound in orange cloth. The spine is gilt-stamped. 218pps. This is the first printing of the 1994 re-issue (originally published by Horizon in 1982). An excellent copy: clean, tight, square, and bright. All tips are sharp. No reading wear or previous owner's markings. The dust jacket, glossy in a mylar sleeve, is very lightly rubbed; no chips, soiling, or tears. The original price is intact. SIGNED by the author -- with no other inscription -- on the title-page. "Wilson Hand, a private investigator, goes to Alaska as a troubleshooter for an oil company. But his work, however fascinating, is far from the center of his life. Just as the sun in Alaska is sometimes chased across the sky by sun dogs -- two mock suns formed by ice crystals in the upper atmosphere -- he is pursued by two intense memories: the suicide of his ex-wife, who had embraced the clutter of modern life; and a single week, years before, that he spent as a captive of the Viet Cong -- haunting memories nearly in possession of his life." Purchase with confidence: all books, gradings, and descriptions are rendered the care of a genuine bibliophile. Satisfaction guaranteed or all costs you've incurred will be promptly refunded.
