About this Item
Handwritten note--Signed by Col. Kermit A. Tyler, air warning center control officer at Pearl Harbor on day of attack in 1941 explaining that morning: "A dozen B17s came in on essentially the same track as the Japanese, and were attacked by Japanese fighters. If I had called Maj. Blake, operations officer at Hickam Field in his office at 7AM Sunday De. 7th he would have onfirmed my belief that the radar plots were B-17's. There were no fighter planes on alert which could have been launched to identify the unknown aircraft. Kermit A. Tyler". Nice piece of Pearl Harbor historical ephemera. Seller Inventory # 026560
