3" x 9" bee's-waxed, walnut dyed paper-covered boards. 20 pages including blanks. Limited Edition of 26 numbered copies, signed by the printer / artist, Jocelyn Webb. Letter from the author loosely inserted. The slightest hint of rubbing, else in fine condition. Laid into this copy is an ALS from Orner to his editor, Patricia Strachan, written from San Francisco on October 12, 2001. Orner writes: "Dear Pat, / Now that it's done, I hope to be able to thank you personally - soon - for all your work on Esther Stories, but since I can't, I want you to know the book wouldn't be close to what it is today without you. Not close. Your sensibility as a writer, reader, and editor is there on every page. Here's a little book a friend made, by hand, of five stories a few years ago. I want you to have a copy. I hope you like it. It could be better edited, but there you go. / With my love and gratitude, / Peter." About 105 words. The book was designed and printed by Jocelyn Webb in the Type Kitchen at the University of Iowa. The text paper is Frankfurt, the cover paper is Nideggen, and the type is Dante, which was composed at the letterfoundry of Michael and Winifred Bixler. Each copy contains nine original monoprints which were printed letterpress from Vinyl plates. The project was supported in part by a grant from the University of Iowa Fine Arts Council. bee's-waxed, walnut dyed paper-covered boards.…
