A finely bound Bayntun Rivière full vermilion crushed cape levant morocco, front and rear covers with modern onlay binding work. The front central panel with viper and Eucharist cup device surrounded by ivy leaves and hanging grapes, the rear central panel with a peacock sitting on the branches of the similar ivy leaf and grape surround, the spine divided into six panels, lettered in the second, tooling to the others and dated at the foot, all page edges gilt, gilt inlaid dots to board edges, wide turn-ins decoratively tooled in gilt, cream silk moirë doublures and liners, front and rear doublures in dark green morocco with symmetrical gilt tooled herringbone and centre dot central panels, gilt borders and corner fleurons, stamp signed in gilt on front turn-in 'Bayntun Rivière of Bath, England', red silk tie. 9'' x 6¼''.
