US reprint (circa 1946)- 1st Thus. Photoplay Edition issued in conjunction with MGM film. Black boards with red lettering. 188 pages. DJ has photos of Lana Turner and John Garfield on front and rear. DJ has some rubing and edgewear; mylar protected. SIGNED by James M. Cain on a card attached to dedication page (signature only). Laid-in from the 1946 film version of novel is a 8"x10" B&W photo SIGNED and inscribed by LANA TURNER (played 'Cora Smith'). Also attached to front end page is a card SIGNED by AUDRY TOTTER (played Madge Gorland'); and a card SIGNED by HUME CRONYN (played 'Arthur Keats'). Laid-in is a card SIGNED by LEON AMES (played 'Kyle Sackett'). Laid-in is a handwritten note SIGNED by NIVEN BUSCH (wrote the screenplay for film). . Plus: From the 1981 film version of the novel--laid-in is a B&W photo SIGNED by BOB RAFELSON (the film's Director) and a card SIGNED by ANGELICA HUSTON (played 'Madge' in 1981 film).
