Item description from seller

Printed broadside, 16 3/4 x 8 inches, folded, rumpled, several short tears through the left margin affecting several letters, some foxing. A good copy. Prints the substance of a bill introduced into the Tennessee legislature that would have allowed voter input into the state's decisions on repaying bonds issued to railroads before the Civil War. Savage (1815-1904), a Tennessee hero of the Seminole, Mexican, and Civil Wars, served in the U.S. Congress before the Civil War and was active in state politics after the war; he wrote and published the much sought LIFE OF JOHN H. SAVAGE (Nashville, 1903). The broadside is not recorded on OCLC.
