This book is hard-bound in red paper covered boards, with a gilt stamped black cloth spine, in a dust jacket with light toning and soiling. The upper panel of the DJ is signed in ink by David Levine. The covers show some very light rubbing to the corners and spine-ends. The binding is solid. The contents are bright and clean, with caricature illustrations throughout. This book is signed/inscribed by David Levine on the half title-page with an original drawing of a personified fountain pen, signed and dated by John Updike on the title-page. Laid-in at the front are a xeroxed copy of a David Levine caricature of himself, which has been signed/inscribed by Levine in ink at the bottom and a post-card signed by David Levine, with a very nice, original ink drawing of a lion. an excellent, unique copy of this David Levine/John Updike book.

Orders usually ship within 2 business days. In recent years the United States Postal Service eliminated Surface or Economy shipping for international orders. As a result we can ship ONLY Airmail. If the book can fit in an Airmail envelope the charge is $15 and should arrive in 6-10 days. If the book is larger or needs the additional protection of a box the charge is between 20 and $65 for Airmail shipping. There are of course exceptions and in that case we will contact the customer regarding the shipping expenses.
