Typed and Printed Document Signed by William Faulkner - Faulkner acknowledges that Paramount Pictures purchased the film rights to his novel ÒSanctuaryÓ and that he has renewed the copyright to the original novel and is affirming the film rights in the story to the EMKA Ltd., who purchased the remake film rights from Paramount, November 5, 1958. EMKA produced the new version at Twentieth Century-Fox in 1961 adapted by Ruth Ford and James Poe, directed by Tony Richardson, starring Lee Remick, Yves Montand, and Bradford Dillman.
