Signed by the author to the front free endpaper, hand is rather shakey - pp. 384 with a colour frontispiece, 29 photographs in black and white and 34 line drawings, diagrams and maps by the Author. Original dust jacket near fine and bright, no fading to the spine, no browning, not price-clipped, now protected in a clear, loose-fitting archival sleeve. Hard back binding fine with no marking, gilt bright . Contents clean and tight, authors signature as described, in addition to a Christmas gift inscription from W. Filby 1976 to Hilda M. Stevens, some spotting to endpapers only. A near fine copy with a scarce signature by the author. Size: 8vo.

We specialise in fine antiquarian and second-hand books with a strong interest in Natural History, particularly the New Naturalist Series.
