Book condition: very good, scarce, signed first printing with dust jacket, inscribed and signed by Wise on ffep, wonderfully fanciful illustrations by Lubell on every page, the story of how the well ordered life of Mrs. Peabody Fitch is disrupted when her niece and favorite pet come to stay, purple dust jacket features illustrations on front and back and shows scuffing to perimeter with two .25" tears to bottom left front, one to bottom back, front jacket return clipped at both corners, yellow cloth boards feature purple pelican illustration on front, very good condition, brief former ownership inscription in pen at top of front pastedown, otherwise interior very clean, binding tight, 48 pages, 7.5 X 9.25 inches.
