Marbled boards, with new leather spine. Beautifully marbled endpapers. A blank or frontispiece is missing before the half title. Frances Alda's inscription on half title: "Frances Alda/Paris/March 30th. 03" A few penciled markings in the music, prob. by Alda, indicating breath pauses and trills. All edges are dyed with a beautiful maroon. Edition is undated but inscription by Alda is from 1903.
