Item description from seller

Hand-coloured etching, with a signed annotation by George Cruikshank stating 'not by any of the Cruikshank family GCk'; trimmed close with sl. loss to two letters of title. 38 x 27. Mounted framed & glazed. George BM Satires 13100. A scarce print with only a single copy located at the BM. One of many examples of Cruikshank revisiting prints marking them with which member of the famously collaborative Cruikshank family had drawn which part of the print. In this example, he notes categorically that neither he, his brother Robert, or his father Isaac, had had any involvement with the production of this caricature. The image is of an attractive and well dressed young woman with her left arm on the shoulder of a diminutive man dressed in full military dress uniform and an arm towards his amour's right hand.
