About the Author

Laurie Lisle, who wrote the first biography of Georgia O'Keeffe, Portrait of an Artist, interviewed Louise Nevelson at length before her death as well as her friends and family members. The author searched the personal papers and photographs in Nevelson's archives and examined the artist's self-portraits in oil and wood.
