Item description from seller

In French. This may be a first edition. I really don't know. 1946 is the only date on the copyright page and 1946 is on the title page. What I do know is that this book is signed and inscribed by the author on the half-title pageThe signed inscription can be seen in the second photo. The photos will also show you the covers of the book. They look pretty clean, however they do have toning/darkening at most of the margins. So I've rated this book only Good Minus because it has its share of wear. The wear includes some jagged edges (with some small loss far from the print) over the first few pages (none anywhere else in the book), also occasional creasing coming off the top edge, also, as you might expect, age toning of the pages, also the first five pages, once the story begins, stick out a little bit at the middle edge (that's why they got to be jagged) even though they don't appear to have any binding issue. The binding of the book is okay. I've turned the pages over many times. Nothing is loose. There are a few instances where there is a very, very slight space at the juncture between two facing ages, again no loose pages, so the binding is decent. What you are going to want to know is that there are a lot of uncut pages. If you cut them, you will be the first to have read the book. I don't see any markings of any kind in the book. There are no attachments. And with the exception of the author's signed inscription, no one has written their name or anything else anywhere in the book. The pages, I failed to mention, are quite clean. I'm not seeing any soiling at all. Looking, obviously, at the ones that aren't uncut. The ones that are uncut are not very likely to have any soiling So if you are a fan of this author, here is an opportunity to have perhaps the Only signed copy of any of his books. It's possible. If this book is purchased outside of the U.S. I should be able to package it securely at under 2 pounds which would make the cost of shipment $25.00, not the quoted $34.00 (which is for under 3 pounds). After I've received the order I would click on Reduce Shipping and you would receive an invoice with the lowered shipping cost.…

Store description

Many of the books I will be selling can accurately be described as ranging from somewhat rare to very rare. In some cases there won't be another copy for sale anywhere on the Internet. There doesn't seem much point, for you or me, in offering something that so many others are already offering. Subject matter will range very widely, creating the possibility for people with very different interests to find something that excites them. As regards pricing, my primary goal is to sell the book. Most often I would expect my book to be the least expensive option on the Internet taking into account an appropriate comparison(what is the condition, is the dust jacket present, is the book signed, is it a first printing, etc.). More important than selling the book I want to make sure that you know, as much as is possible, exactly what you are getting. To that end, you'll notice that my descriptions of condition tend to be lengthy, and that there will always be photographs to help you draw your own conclusions. Please feel free to contact me with any questions about a given book. As regards international shipping, the first class or standard rates I charge are based on a package weight between 2 and 3 pounds. If the book is on the thin side there is a possibility that I can securely pack it up under 2 pounds in weight. If so, the shipping price will drop by around $11.00 or $12.00 to $26.00-27.00. Canada, which is less expensive drops to $18.00. You can contact me before purchasing a book for an estimate on the shipping cost. If you buy the book and it weighs in below 2 pounds you'll get a Reduced Shipping message and amount with the invoice and you'll see the lowered final cost before you make your payment.…
