Half-leather binding; spine leather well scuffed and worn with chipping at ends; small loss to the first "r" in "Harper's" but spine's gilt stamped lettering otherwise remains bright; boards well rubbed with wear and peeling at edges; leather board corners also worn. Toning and some soiling to edges. Floral decoration to endpapers. Small white rectangular bindery ticket at front pastedown's bottom right corner: "J.E. Hoag, | --Book-Binder-- | Springport, Michigan." for John Ellsworth Hoag who founded bindery business in 1893 and which later operated as Hoag and Son's, Inc. Some occasional light soiling to interior pages with a few margins chips and tears; light moisture stains at fore-edge margins of title page and Index (i.e. pages i-iv). Each issue bound without its front and rear cover. Some color illustrations mostly as frontispieces; numerous b/w illustrations throughout. Successive pagination for each issue: June 1892 VOL.
