Item description from seller

20, [1], 6-22, [1], 6-22, [1]6-20, [1], 6-28, [1], 6-35, [2], 6-24, [1], 6-28, [1], 6-28, [1], 6-22 pages + 9 plates, frontispiece apparently included in the pagination. Pagination so complicated because it would appear to be a collection of stories which were once published individually and here gathered together without their individual preliminary pages. In the original red cloth which is worn, tears down one side of the spine. Presentation inscription by the author some years after publication - Jessie Mylne Rivington with W.W. Champneys' love, April 19 1886. Last digit of the year is uncertain.
