This is a new copy of The Historic Architecture of Prince Edward Island, by the Canadian architect and journalist H. M. Scott Smith. It is the result of Smith's 30-year research and documentation of the island’s built heritage; it was first published in 2011 and has been updated. Meticulously detailed and beautifully illustrated, and featuring photography, drawings, and archival materials of everything from lighthouses to churches, to picturesque houses to stately civic buildings, this is the only comprehensive study of pre-1914 architectural history in 'The Garden of the Gulf'. A must-have for architectural historians, students and anyone interested in the history of architecture. 466 pages, black & white and color, signed by the author This is not a used book.

An updated edition of the multiple best-selling, 1986 catalogue of the resilient stock of pre-1918 Prince Edward Island churches. Seen through the eyes of an architect, this collection features colour photographs, BW archival material, floor plans and offers historical sketches and insights into the origins of the Island's church architecture. Proudly and dutifully maintained, this building stock has seen a remarkably low rate of attrition on PEI since 1900.
