Lithograph in Very Good condition with no visible flaws; frame shows minor wear with a few scrapes and scruffs to edges. FJ Consignment. Derain has painted a life size Harlequin, a character from the Italian Commedia dellarte, characterised by his colourful chequered costume and bicorn hat. The Spanish painter Salvado, who worked for Derain and Pablo Picasso posed for the character. Andre Derain was a French artist, painter, sculptor and co founder of Fauvism with Henri Matisse.
