From the Back Cover
“We walked or I should say leaped, into the affair, knowing it had no future, and we went on from moment to moment beacuse we needed it, and were absolutely sure that in a short time, we would look at each other and have nothing to say and that would be that.
Yet it has endured. The affair had a future that is the present and it has taught me things I did not know about love, the body and the heart and the way we link ourselves to people who may not be politically, socially or in any way correct.”
Luckily love can happen to any of us, at any time. And often, at any age, we fall in love with someone whom family, friends, colleagues, even our children think entirely wrong.
And that’s what happened to Sara Davidson with Zack.
Sara Davidson, author of 'Loose Change', a seminal account of life in the sixties and of coming into one’s own, and now co-producer of the television series Dr Quinn, Medicine Woman, lives in Hollywood. A successful woman, she is divorced, mother of two, almost fifty, and content with her civilised life, until she meets Zack, a cowboy, who barely completed school, and lives in the desert.
But Sara Davidson feels loved as she never has before. And through Zack’s very different attitude to life, to love, Sara can accept, perhaps for the first time, that receiving someone’s love can help us to love ourselves.
So should she give up such an unsuitable love?
Candid, intimate, honest , funny, 'Cowboy' is a wonderful love story of universal appeal and an inspiration to all of us to listen to our hearts.
