A 12-bar, fully-scored sequence from the original soundtrack to Casino Royale, signed by the composer, "Best Wishes, David Arnold". The first page is headed "Casino Royale" and "8MIB Venice". The music for Daniel Craig's first Bond movie was by David Arnold and orchestrated by Nicholas Dodd. The score accompanies the climax of the Venetian Grand Canal sequence. This is a fully orchestrated extract from the score, with notation for flutes, oboes, clarinets, bassoons, trumpet, horns, trombones, tuba, timpani, various percussion, and full strings. Commencing in 4/4 time, the section moves into 6/4 for the final four bars. The music adds to the cinema audience's adrenaline rush as Vesper Lynd, in the elevator of a collapsing Venetian building, gazes at Bond who has just picked off numerous armed opponents. Because she has betrayed Bond, Vesper locks herself into the elevator with the words "I'm sorry James" and then plummets into the waters of the Grand Canal. This section of the score can be heard at the end of the 127th minute of the film and into the 128th minute. David Arnold (b. 1962) was recommended to Barbara Broccoli by John Barry for Tomorrow Never Dies and wrote the music for this and four subsequent Bond films (The World is Not Enough, Die Another Day, Casino Royale, and Quantum of Solace). In other work he was Musical Director for the 2012 Olympic Games and the 2012 Paralympic Games in London. Other film scores include Stargate, Independence Day, and Godzilla. Television series include Sherlock, Good Omens and Dracula. His work on the music for Casino Royale won him a BAFTA Award for Film Music. The composer and orchestrator Nicholas Dodd first worked with David Arnold in 1993 on the film The Young Americans. He orchestrated all of Arnold's music for his five Bond films, and, in a connection with Bond music of the past, he has conducted concerts of John Barry's work. The poster for Casino Royale is signed "Best wishes, David Arnold". The CDs comprise Die Another Day (La-La Land Records, LLLCD1447), The World is Not Enough (La-La Land Records, LLLCD1477), Stargate - 25th Anniversary Expanded Edition (La-La Land Records, LLLCD1511), Sherlock (Silva Screen Records, SILCD1377), Good Omens (Silva Screen Records, SILCD1593), and Dracula (Silva Screen Records, SILCD1619). Each has the CD booklet signed by David Arnold. Folio (420 x 295 mm), 2 sheets of single-sided 25-stave paper with instrumentation printed on left edge, "Transposed Score" in upper left corner and "Nicholas Dodd" at centre foot. Together with single-sheet poster for Casino Royale, 1010 x 680 mm. Together with four double CD titles and two single CD titles. Minor adhesive tape marks to one edge of each page; else near-fine.…
