Softcover without dust jacket. Blue covers with white lettering and picture of Col. John A. Martin to front cover. Some wear noted to edges, head and tail of spine and corners. Creasing noted along spine. Some creasing to back lower corner. Pages clean and unmarked with some illustrations. Signed on title page by Editor and Transcriber Ernst F. Tonsing. This collection of speeches delivered by Colonel John Alexander Martin is a companion to many other volumes. In these addresses to various organizations, the then governor of the State of Kansas spoke about the live of soldiers during the conflict in ways that no doubt evoked vivid recollections and strong emotions in his audience. The images contained in this book are drawn from stereopticon slides that had belonged to Martin.
