[24-626] The Introduction states, in part, ?In offering the present work to the public, it is the author?s hope to supply, with respect to other dictionaries of the Chinook Jargon, a desideratum hitherto unsupplied in the fifty or more editions of small vocabularies issued during a period of seventy years.? The book includes an explanatory Introduction with sections of the origins and definition of Chinook Jargon, abbreviations and explanatory notes, and bibliographic notes. The Lexicon, Index of Vocabulary Words, and Supplemental Vocabulary are arranged alphabetically by Jargon spelling. There is also a Guide to Pronunciation, following by pages of English words to Chinook Jargon. This comprehensive work also was offered in paper wraps which are much more common than the more desired hardbound copies like this one.
