[ii]+58, the brief 'Notes for Performance' printed in English, French & German; med. 4to; printed glazed paper wrappers, faintly soiled, edges a trifle rubbed, with small surface graze to top edge of lower wrapper; Schott, London, n.d. *Inscribed by the composer on the title page: 'For Calvin/Kenji [Bowman] from Michael Tippett'. Concerto for Double String Orchestra was first performed by the South London Orchestra, conducted by the composer, at Morley College London, 21 April 1940. Dr. Calvin Bowman is Associate Artistic Director of Australia Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra. He is a gifted composer and acclaimed player of piano, organ and harpsichord.
