Across from each poem is a large purple calligraphic printed number design One through Ten, matching the titles of the poems and a theme discussed briefly. The printed dedication is to "my physicist-musician husband Irving" - and the epigraph on the title page reads: The whole notes must not be of equal duration (Pierre Boulez). - An extensive wikipedia page on Zinnes describes her long career as a poet, literary historian, professor, and editor. - Interesting.
