Patterned variegated brown cloth lettered in gilt on the spine, all edges uncut; covers slightly bowed; endpapers offset; pastedowns slightly bubbled (probably endemic to the species); overall an excellent copy. Number 163 of 300 signed copies of the standard edition; there was also a deluxe edition of 120 copies. Provenance: Johannes Larsen, with his small name-stamp on the title page and his pictorial bookplate on the front pastedown (this Australian bookplate and its artist, M.G. First edition, first printing. Signed by the Author. Publisher's original brown patterned and embossed cloth with gilt titles to the spine. Illustrated with and containing 114 book plates, including the frontispiece bookplate of the Royal Library at Windsor Castle. A near fine copy, the binding square and firm, with some small scuff marks to the boards, the cloth and and gilt lettering bright and fresh. The contents are clean throughout and without stamps or inscriptions. An excellent example.
